About David

Dave Protheroe grew up Clanfield, Hampshire and still lives there today. He took up playing guitar at the age of 12 years where he progressed quickly, showing a natural ability for music. He was already playing in bands and writing songs by the time he left The Petersfield School in 2004. He then went to study Music Technology at Southdown College.
He received a high level BTEC national diploma and decided to make music his career and take up a degree in music performance and technology at the University of Chichester. Throughout his time at Chichester he was also teaching the guitar to students of all ages in areas all around Petersfield, building up a very good reputation.

Tuition Lessons

Learning guitar is like learning to do anything new; it takes time and practice. But as you gain experience, playing will begin to feel more natural. It’s then that you can really begin to enjoy your instrument, putting effort into projects like song writing or playing in a band.
If you are looking for recognized qualifications in guitar, then you’ll probably want to start focusing on grades. Grades are widely accepted as the best way to encourage and demonstrate guitar potential. Grades range from one to eight, and each grading involves an examination. Dave teaches the Rock School syllabus of grades, which are held 3 times per year and can be taken at your closest grading centre.

Prices

Dave can specialise in teaching any of the following instruments: Acoustic guitar, electric guitar and bass guitar. Abilities: Complete beginners to adVonced players.

• £22 for a 1-hour session aimed at students over 10 yrs.
• £12 for a ½-hour session aimed at students under 10 yrs.

The preferred method of payment is a half term’s worth of lessons in the form of a cheque made payable to David Protheroe.
